Labor & Employment Attorney | Charlotte, NC | $175,000 to $330,000

Employment law isn’t a department at this firm. It’s the whole firm.

• I’m Clark Pollins at Distinct Recruitment. I’m recruiting for a national firm that has practiced only labor and employment law, only for employers, for decades.

• That focus changes your day. The colleague down the hall does what you do. Every referral that comes in is your kind of work.
\n
• They’re hiring at two levels: senior associate or counsel, and partner. Senior associates and counsel sit within the range. Partners with a portable book discuss economics directly with the firm.
\n

• Leadership is investing in this office, and a senior figure from the firm’s leadership now runs it.

• Traditional labor has a home here. If you’ve handled union campaigns, NLRB matters or collective bargaining, the client base is there to use it.

• Promotion has a track record. The firm promoted a sizeable class at the start of 2026.

• You run your own docket, with direct contact with HR leaders and in house counsel from day one.

• When a question lands outside your expertise, a specialist in the firm can answer it that afternoon.

• 1850 Billable target
\n

The work

\n
• Management side employment litigation in federal and state court, in arbitration, and before the EEOC, NLRB and NC Department of Labor.
\n
• Discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, leave and restrictive covenant matters.
\n
• Traditional labor and labor relations: union organizing campaigns, collective bargaining and contract administration.
\n
• Advising on handbooks, policies, reductions in force and executive agreements.
\n

What they’re looking for

\n
• North Carolina bar admission, or eligible to get it soon.
\n
• 3 or more years of management side labor and employment experience.
\n
• You’d rather prevent the lawsuit than win it, and you can win it if you have to.
\n
